On Wednesday, May 3rd, AO Flight attended a mini-conference at the request of Dr, Mladen Kezunovic, the Director of of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) and his SmartGrid staff. (http://tees.tamu.edu/) Skip Tackett, the CEO and Chief Pilot of AO Flight gave a briefing on the capabilities of the the company and it’s SkyRanger quad-copter, followed by a flight demonstration at the RELLIS facility. (http://tees.tamu.edu/research/facilities/rellis/) Discussions consisted of how AO Flight could potentially support current and future TEES projects, integration into existing and future emergency support communications systems, and how using high definition optics to support predictive analysis to name a few. Other attendees were representatives from the Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue – CRASAR (http://crasar.org/), the Department of Justice and other high level agencies.
